Why not do something lovely and fun this summer!
We are happy to announce that our Pop-up Contemporary Singing School is up and running! The school has been set up as a part of a Community Outreach project solemnly by Bird on the Birch with the support from local venues across the boroughs of Hackney and Tower Hamlets.
This new concept is all about new singing experiences to inspire creativity to its full in hand-picked quirky venues where the art and social atmospheres can mix in a lovely blend.
Each singing session contains 2 classes of 45 min each, and you can mix and match any dates and venues from available ones listed below, or via our online calendar here. In each class you will learn, or brush on, singing techniques and learn a new song. Exchange of knowledge is encouraged and with the support from a teacher and each other you will be inspired to open up your singing potential even further.
The fee for 5 sessions of 10 academic hours is only £40 (instead of £200 normally) or you can get to any session on drop-in basis for just a tenner. The advanced bookings are essential, and once you book, you will get a confirmation and a reminder in your inbox from Reservio calendar. To book follow this link here.
The School will run on these terms for the whole of summer of 2014 starting from 4th May until 9th August with dates and venues listed below and also on our calendar here. To get monthly newsletters with reminders and updates about school sign up to our Newsletter below.
At the end of all courses, there will be a public performance on Sat 30th of August in Bohemia Hackney where each student will be able to showcase a song of their own choice and invite their friends and family along.

Who this school is for:
Classes are taught in a group and are designed for all levels singers, from beginners to intermediate. The main focus of the whole programme is an individual student development, which leads towards solo performance. The primary styles taught are Jazz, Blues & Folk, with other singing styles introduced by the visiting teachers.
The sessions are led by trained and experienced vocal coach Elena Dana
who will be joined by other qualified teachers from the area on few occasions. All Vocal Coaches on a course have a strong live performance background, and therefore will be sharing their personal singing secrets with you! Visiting teachers will be listed on our calendar
as soon as we get them confirmed.
“I have attended a few group and private singing lessons with Elena. It was a lot of fun and engaging, she is very encouraging, passionate and caring! Great way to start singing or just practice.” – Dalia
“Learning to sing this rather beautiful song
with amazingly complex lyrics in this group session
was fun and enjoyable, yet stretching and challenging for me! The visiting teacher was cool and led us in an inspiring nurturing way to sing this song as a group!” – Kim
